"For the first time, through this technology and these incredible vegetables, we're connecting an oxymoron: bridging the gap between what's right, healthy, and true - with ultimate convenience." That's how Dr. Tsipi Shoham, founder and CEO of GreenOnyx, described the company's breakthrough in an interview held at Calcalist and Leumi's Tech TLV conference. GreenOnyx presented an infrastructure it calls "Quantum Farming" - completely sterile growing units that are fully isolated from external environmental conditions.

The company's current focus is on a tiny aquatic plant from the Wolffia (water lentil) family, marketed fresh with a six-week shelf life. Shoham noted that the technology saves approximately 70% of energy compared to traditional vertical farming, and enables cultivation with zero waste and zero pesticides in the heart of high-demand urban areas. The company's first farm, demonstrating the ability to completely decouple agriculture from land, was established inside an office building ("Beit Panorama") in Tel Aviv.
